Malayalam Movie Race is Coming

 

Following the likes of the Hindi thriller with the same name, a Mollywood movie titled 'Race' is briskly in its making. The movie scheduled to hit theaters this January will have Kunchako Boban, Indrajith, Mamtha Mohandas, Baby Ankitha and Jagathi Sreekumar in the lead roles.

Kukku Surendran is directing the movie, which will have Kunchakko Boban as Dr Aby John. He with his small family of wife Niya and daughter Anu. They were leading a peaceful life, until a sinister turn suddenly for a mysterious reason.

The movie which will move on to a thrilling climax will have music by Viswajith. ‘Race’ is produced under the banner of Pentavision by Jose K George and Shaji Mecheri.

Mammootty's Malayalam Movie Pazhassi Crosses 10 crores

Latest Malayalam movie Pazhassi Raja still creating history in Malayalam Film Industry with its strong collection. After the second week , the collecion rate goes down but still the movie keeps a decent collection rate. The movie has already accumulated a ten crores from its 26 day run, which is the highest ever collection for a movie in Malayalam in these number of days. In the capital city itself it has crossed a 75 lakhs in 26 days.

Meanwhile, Malayalam super hit epic Pazhassi Raja’s Tamil version featuring Mammootty and Sarath Kumar and directed by Hariharan, was to release this Friday (Nov 13), but has now been postponed. Due to heavy rains in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu the Tamil Version of Gokulam Gopalan produced Pazhassi Raja is postponed to next Friday (Nov 20), depending on the weather.

The buzz on those who saw the Tamil version is very good and most of the areas has been sold out.

Box Office Collection Report: Mammootty's Pazhassi Raja crosses six crores

Mammootty - Hariharan - M.T Vasudevan Nair team's Pazhassi Raja is setting new record in the Box office. The movie after the initial storming continues to do a steady run in the theatres in the second week. The new record set was Pazhassi Raja is the first malayalam movie to collect five crores from theatres in just 9 days.

Also the movie Pazhassi Raja has collected forty lakhs from all the metro releasing centres in kerala. Last week the satellite rights of the movie was sold out for a record 2.60 crores by Asianet. This breaks the recordset by the Mohanlal Movie 'Sagar Alias jacky Reloaded'. At the same time movie will also be released in other languages this week.

Mammootty's Pazhassi Raja - a historical movie is now becoming a history of Malayalam Movies. Meantime the movie Pazhassi Raja was selected to show the movie in Indian Panorama.

Kerala Box Office Reports, October 2009

Kerala Box Office is back on full Swing. This time Pazhassi Raja stormed the Box office and continues to run consistently. The Kerala Box Office has come alive with the mega hit Pazhassi Raja, which released on October 16 in 125 screens across the state, and is number one on KBO.
Pazhassi Raja has had a record opening and is considered to be the biggest hit ever in the history
of Malayalam film.

Mammootty's Pazhassi Raja collects Rs 82 lakhs on day one, Rs 98 lakhs on day two, and Rs 92 lakhs on day three, taking an overall collection of Rs 2.72 crore in just 3 days. It is the highest ever opening recorded for a film in Kerala. The movie is at the first position by a great margin to the Aadhavan at the second position. Aadhavan featuring Suriya and nayanthara which released in huge screens like Ernakulam Kavitha and Thiruvananthapuram Anjali, has taken a 100 per cent opening in these two key cities on Saturday and Sunday.

Prithviraj's Robinhood and Mohanlal-Kamal Hassan's Unnai Pol Oruvan is at third and fourth position and attained a safe position. At number five is Sooraj Venjaranmoodu’s Duplicate made at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore and is a hit. In sixth position is Mammootty’s Loud Speaker, which is a loser even if the movie got good acknowledgements.

Mammootty's Pazhassi Raja storms Kerala Box Office

Pazhassi Raja - one of the most expected movie of 2009 is blessed with all things- Good Director, Good Script Writer, Good Cast etc. The movie got released last friday in around 125 theatres in kerala. Hariharan- MT Vasudevan Nair classic Pazhassi Raja produced by Gokulam Gopalan with Megastar Mammootty playing the title role has taken Kerala by storm.

The film has grossed an amazing record Rs 1.53 crore from 125 screens in Kerala on its opening day. This is the highest ever opening day collection for any film in Kerala breaking the record of Twenty:20. “We are very happy with the film and its gargantuan opening, which also justified our faith in the team.” says Gokulam Praveen, the Executive producer of the film:

Kerala Box Office Reports September 2009

Last Month september witnessed many movie releases. The major movies include got releassed last month include Loud Speaker, Duplicate and Robinhood and all the three have taken decent openings.

Joshy directed movie Robinhood which features Prithviraj, Naraien and Bhavana in main roles has taken a fantastic opening in nearly 70 screens across Kerala, though it carries mixed reports. It is the clear number one and has netted Rs 4.31 lakh in its first four days at Padma Theatre (Ernakulam), a 100 per cent opening!


At number two is the Jayaraj directed Loud Speaker, starring Mammootty, which, after a slow start, has picked up. Word of mouth on the film is encouraging. At Shenoys Theatre (Ernakulam), the film has netted Rs 8.39 lakhs in its first 10 days of its release, which is 82 per cent of the capacity.

In third position is the Kamal Hassan-Mohanlal thriller Unnaipol Oruvan, which was initially released in only 20 screens in Kerala. In fourth position is Suraj Venjaranmoodu’s debut film as hero Duplicate. Made on a shoestring budget, it is doing well. In fifth position is last month’s number one, Puthiya Mugham, which is steady in B and C.

The movie Pazhassi Raja is considered to be one of the most expected movie of 2009 and initial reports shows that the movie had keeped the expectations to a great extend. The movie is all about the story of the Prince Pazhassi Kerala Varma and his freedom fights against the British company and their strong army.

The movie is getting good responses from all over kerala and according to the initial reports of the movie , the movie has got an initial collection of about 1.5 crores. The movie got released in 125 centres in kerala and almost all shows are house full. The movie is simply excellent and has comprised of super direction, super script, super acting, super action scenes and good songs. The backgroung score is also good but not the best. Almost all cast including Mammootty, Sarath kumar, Manoj K Jayan, Suresh Krishna, Suman, Padmapriya, Kaniha has done a brilliant performance in the movie.
